About

Me

Dolling Name: Ophelia, from Hamlet. It used

to be Isodel from Diana Wynne Jones' Year of the Griffin.

The Site and Dolls

I make all of my dolls using Photoshop CS3.

My very first doll is on the left. MS Paint, summer 2004. Base by Swanlake,

which is unfortunately down.

---

The site was put up sometime in Spring 2005 and was called Gabrielle's, but

that only lasted a week or so before I changed the name to Isodel's Magick.

When that didn't make sense anymore, Isodel's Magick became The Kiln in 2008.

FAQ:

How do you know English?

It's my first language!

And, in a very Roald

Dahl fashion, I have always gone to a

British school.

Bases for the Baseless Dolls?

Unfortunately, baseless dolls are just that - dolls I've made without a full base. Even though I usually draw a full body before adding clothes, the poses I use for those dolls are not ones I plan on releasing. Besides, my base-making skills are so challenged that it would probably take me longer to make something vaguely functional than it did to make the doll in the first place.

Can I be your sister?

You are, of course, welcome to ask me to

be your sister, but please only do so if

we are friends. This would entail having

e-mail or IM conversations about

something other than dolling,

and having done so for a while.
